Maintenance tasks End-of-Life announcement

As of August 15, 2019, Rapid7 will no longer support Maintenance Tasks for Nexpose. As a result, Maintenance Tasks will be removed from the Security Console on August 31, 2019, since these operations automatically occur and no longer need to be manually initiated or scheduled.

The Maintenance Tasks were designed to perform three tasks:

  • Cleanup - attempts to repair partially deleted sites.
  • Compression - attempts to compress the database and reclaim unused, allocated space.
  • Re-Indexing - attempts to repair indexing issues.

Impact

Since Maintenance Tasks now automatically occur in-product, there is no available replacement option. As a result of the end-of-life process, customers will no longer be able to:

Initiate Maintenance Tasks

Customers will no longer be able to manually initiate any of the maintenance tasks found on the Maintenance tab on the Maintenance page.

Schedule Maintenance Tasks

Customers will no longer be able to schedule maintenance tasks from the Schedules tab.

Previously Scheduled Maintenance Tasks

Customers will no longer see scheduled maintenance tasks in the Calendar. Previously scheduled maintenance tasks will be removed from your product calendar. These tasks will not run after August 31, 2019. However, since these tasks automatically occur at service restart and while Nexpose is in use, there is no need for you to do anything.

Overview of the End-of-Life Process
