- Improved Agent Log Collection: The "Collect Logs" feature in Agent Management now returns additional Insight Agent logs for better visibility.
Fixed
We fixed a long-standing issue where the Insight Agent creates a new Agent ID if the bootstrap.cfg configuration file becomes corrupted or unreadable. In combination with correlation changes in InsightVM (introduced in November 2023), this led to a significant increase in asset counts in the Security Console.
Please note that this will not solve all cases of asset inflation. In highly ephemeral or auto-scaling situations (where new instances are created from a golden image that includes the Insight Agent), each new instance will get a new Agent ID.
We fixed an issue where an Insight Agent sub-component was incorrectly reporting as installed.
