Rapid7 Agent (Insight Agent) requirements

Ransomware Prevention requires the Rapid7 Agent (Insight Agent) to be installed. Before proceeding, ensure that the Rapid7 Agent (Insight Agent) is installed on any asset where you plan to deploy Ransomware Prevention. Review the requirements of the Rapid7 Agent (Insight Agent), which must be met along with the requirements listed in this article.

Ransomware Prevention currently supports Windows operating systems.

Ransomware Prevention currently requires Rapid7 Agent (Insight Agent) 4.0.0.0 and above for Windows operating systems. The system hosting the Next-Generation Antivirus add-on must also meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Memory (RAM): 2 MB
  • Processor: 0% CPU at idle
    • It may briefly spike to 20-30% for around 30-50 seconds when services restart or the endpoint boots, depending on the machine’s resources.
  • Hard Disk Space: 200 MB
